Knipex Cable Shears 200mm
Knipex 200mm VDE-insulated cable shears with twin cutting edge, individually tested to 10,000V and certified safe for use to 1000V AC. The twin cutting edge is the defining feature of this model, upper and lower blades work in a scissors action, with the upper blade making an initial cut into the cable insulation before the lower blade completes the cut through the conductors. This two-stage approach handles cables up to 70mm² and 20mm diameter cleanly and without deformation, with significantly less hand force than a single-blade shear requires at this capacity. The step up from the 165mm format for electricians working regularly with larger-section cable.

- Twin cutting edge for clean cuts on larger cable sections — The scissors-action twin blade design divides the cutting work between upper and lower blades, with the upper profile making an initial cut into the insulation and the lower completing the cut through the conductors; unlike diagonal cutters that meet at an obtuse angle and crush cable ends, the scissors action produces a clean, smooth, deformation-free cut on cables up to 70mm² that a single-blade shear cannot match at this capacity
- Cuts up to 70mm² and 20mm diameter Cu and Al cable — Handles copper and aluminium single conductors and multi-stranded cables across a substantially greater capacity than the 165mm format; not suitable for steel wire or hard-drawn copper conductors; the 70mm² capacity covers the larger section cables encountered in commercial electrical installation, distribution boards, and heavier power circuits
